on the central coast of british columbia, when the salmon start to head upriver to spawn, it is not just the bears that come out to feast. the grey wolves slip out of the forest to fish in the rivers too, catching these swimmers alongside the grizzlies while the eagles and ravens look on and wait for scraps. as autumn turns in to winter, nearly all the forest has had a taste of these magical creatures, including the towering trees themselves, that absorb the rich fish nitrogen through the soil. this little wolf is completely hand stitched, along with a fat sockeye he has proudly caught, both all in linen.
