soul

the old totem pole laying to rest at yuquot, nootka sound, where it is slowly being reclaimed by the forest. the pole dates back to about 1929, but was toppled by wind in 1993. the natives believe it is unwise to raise a fallen pole, preferring to let it "lie in peace". it definitely has the feel of an old soul finding it's way back to the forest where it began.

* i think this is a bear - please correct me if i'm wrong
