keyboard tray evolution
A couple years ago I decided it was time to hang up the T-square and do my architectural drawings in CAD. It didn't take long to realize that I would benefit by incorporating ergonomic measures in my office workspace. I have found that having an adjustable keyboard tray had been the most helpful step in relieving the discomfort I have had.
This collection of pictures shows the progression of my experiments. Most of the pictures record the building of the "Executive', a tray incorporating a Slimblade trackball and the ErgoDox, a split keyboard kit developed by a co-op of several talented volunteers.
Have I found the perfect setup? I wish I could say yes. The keyboard is almost perfect, but while the trackball and buttons are good, I think the sloped trackball on my earlier board was perfection. And that is hard to improve upon.
