Warped Tour 2009, Uniondale NY

EOS 5D | EF 24-70mm L

Strobist info & Photographers note:

Simply put, this year has been amazing. I've had the chance to photograph some of my favorite artist on different tours. Last week I went to my first Warped Tour in Columbia, MD then on saturday I went to the warped in New York. My first visit I wanted to get the feel of what warped was like, check out new bands, revisit old faces, and get the general idea of how I'll be shooting.

Saturday morning we drove up to Long Island NY for the warped at Nassau Coliseum. I have to say, The NY stop was much better than MD (setup wise). However, Columbia was much more organized in terms of parking, faculty, and services. I had a great time photographing the bands. Everyone delivered an amazing performance up until the last set. I'm looking forward to what warped has in store next year.

Future WT photographers, one of the essential items I felt was necessary in the photo pit was a cleaning cloth. Something to clean the body and lens of the camera. Note that you're in the area where alot of things get thrown at by the crowd. Most of those things happen to be liquids of some sort. Trust me, you dont want your lens to be covered in energy drink. Aside from that, drink plenty of water because your outside in the hot sun 6-7 hours. Last thing you want is to miss a photo-op because your so fatigue. Please check out the rest of the set and as always, happy shooting.

All photos are thanks to Mikl of BrokeNCYDE. Without his help, none of these captures would be possible.
