Porchetta Sandwich with Rapini Combo

Was this worth the failed attempt to reach this restaurant on a Tuesday where they were closed (not announced on the site) because they were tearing up the sidewalk in front of the store because of St. Clair construction?

 

Was it worth the drive down Dufferin, which managed to be bumpy beyond all belief and congested at 1 PM?

 

Was it worth the second attempt of driving down St. Clair West's construction?

 

Yes.

 

This was a mind-blowingly delicious sandwich, full of juicy, flavourful, tender pork that reminded me of the better siu yuk I've had in Hong Kong, minus the super crisp skin. I didn't get much of the cracklings, but everything else, including the dreamy fries, oozy, creamy mayo, and lightly sauteed rapini was very present and only served to fuel my imagination further. (Because right now, I'm thinking about biting into the sandwich and it's making my mouth water.)

 

I have to go back for the fried chicken. And the pulled pork. And the ribs.
