Rosanna Bauman: Cultivating Healthy Rural Communities by Asking “Why?”

Rosanna shared how this powerful tool has guided their family into shaping farm enterprises that feed their neighbors and change our world. Rosanna concluded with the inspiration she gained from her recent Farmers Union-supported travel to the International Workshop for Rural Youth and how this global perspective relates to food security in Kansas.

Rosanna Bauman, her parents, and five siblings, steward Bauman’s Cedar Valley Farms, a small sustainable family farm began in 2001. This highly diversified farm raises pastured poultry and beef, as well as non-GMO grains and hay. Their eighteen different enterprises include two USDA inspected plants: on-farm ANCO Poultry Processing and Bauman’s Butcher Block, as well as the inaugural Non-GMO Feed Hub: Bauman’s Farm Feeds.
