(Re)searching Women and Education in Banaras: NIRMAN South Point School

NIRMAN is an alternative school that strives to bring modern education to students of various different socioeconomic backgrounds. While my interviews took place with adult women and primarily their own education, we also discussed the education of younger women in their own family. I wanted to feature women of various different economic statuses, and because NIRMAN has women working both as educators, cooks and housekeepers, it served as the perfect jumping off point for my interviews.
