Geomagnetic storm

Aurora borealis just outside Aberdeen last night. It looks fairly clear here but overall the cloud was a lot more disruptive than I had expected. It was a superb display though.

Beautiful! I actually like the clouds reflecting the orange lights of the city – they add another colour component to the picture.

Oh wow! what a sight! I wish I will see the aurora some day myself!

So vibrant, great seeing it so far south. I've yet to see it - on the bucket list!

I find this site the easiest to understand www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/3

      There is also spaceweather.com/

Seems like this storm is now fading but the weather forecast for tonight in the east of Scotland is for clearing skies so I'll be staying up late tonight :)

Yes sir, that'll do nicely.Clouded out here for most of it,noticed the aurora was virtually overhead in a few gaps in the cloud.

Magnificent. Very beautiful shot, sir. I'm hoping one day, I'll get to see this brilliant wonder.

Nice one Kenneth. Lots of needle actions yesterday based on the aurora shots taken down south.

Fantastic colours, really beautiful shot. The display was very short lived and quite faint further south here in East Yorks. This one looks really dazzling though!
