Argus C3 Matchmatic

    Newer Older

A very popular collectible made even more popular by its appearance in the 2nd Harry Potter movie.
This is just a cool camera, from its impressive dials and gears, to its nifty two-tone skin and bright chrome trim. This example is shown topped with the clip-on selenium meter.

Because of its shape (and weight), the Argus C3 is affectionately known as "The Brick".

    Made from 1958-66.

I was just given this exact same model. It belonged to a family member, and they know I like photography. I just read that the case is part bakelite. Cool camera, and great shot!

I have one of these that my father had.
I'm in the process of restoring it to it's Like new luster.
Yours is a beautiful example of a new one.
Thanks for sharing so I can get some reference.

Looks wise this puts all modern DSLR cameras to shame, well maybe not the Olympus Pen!

I have inherited one of these from my grandfather, including the same light meter and the flash. Yesterday was the first time I put film in it (and the first time it's been touched in 30-something years!). The shutter still works perfectly. Can't wait to get these shots developed...
