    Newer Older

The Tahbes Synchro Camera is a bare metal camera, made in the Netherlands c1947-48. It's got a telescoping lens barrel, not extended in this view.

For more information about the Tahbes Synchro Camera, and/or if you'd like to see a really fantastic example of it, have a look at Hans Kerensky's excellent set.

      Graustark:
The lens barrel on this one actually pulls straight out rather than twisting. And yes it does pick up those fingerprints, but I didn't really feel like spending an hour trying to polish them out for this photo. Plus I don't own those white cotton gloves I would need to handle it. :o)
      Sour grapes... You're funny!

Thank you! Always good to hear from you!

A beaut! I've seen a black Tahbes in an auction before but not in full metal like this. Having seen yours now, I shall have to bid like crazy if ever i see one listed.

Just looked at the example on your link, surely you could polish this up and it would look as good.

That's true. Maybe I'll do it if I ever get the display case I need for my favorite cameras. As it is, they're mostly in boxes. :o(
