When I was growing up these women shaped who I am today.
I am sitting on the knee of my Great Grandmother. She raised ten children of her own.
One of my fondest memories is of her sitting at the head of a huge dining table and ruling us all with the threat of a carving knife! Good manners were very important then ... No elbows on the table ... Chewing with closed mouth ... Polite conversation ...
