Meeker Slough, Richmond, CA

We took this photo while filming our QUEST video "Journey of the San Francisco Bay Trail." Meeker Slough is northwest of Pt. Isabel Regional Shoreline, in Richmond, CA.

The San Francisco Bay Trail is a project to build a "ring around the Bay" -- a 500-mile hiking and biking trail along the shoreline of San Francisco and San Pablo bays. As of the summer of 2011, some 310 miles had been completed. Most of the Bay Trail is wheelchair accessible.

The section of the trail where Meeker Slough is located is known as the Marina Bay trail and it's part of the Eastshore State Park. You can find a detailed map of the Marina Bay Trail on the Web site of the Trails for Richmond Action Committee. The Eastshore State Park is jointly managed by the California State Parks and the East Bay Regional Park District.
