A rare beauty from the Library of Congress
The Library of Congress has one of the world’s largest collections of lacquer and acetate records and wax cylinders, the latter of which grew out of tin cylinders which Edison had used to record and play back sound in the 1870s. This is an example of a rare Library of Congress record that was used not so much for playing but as a master source from which to generate subsequent copies. Image Source: Sheraz Sadiq
