Indri (Indri indri)

Mantadia National Park, Andasibe (Perinet), Madagascar. Endemic, Endangered.

 

The wonderful, famous Singing Lemur. We had the pleasure of seeing may Indri, including being woken up by the morning calls of several troupes that started up at 4:00 am everyday. They sound a lot like whales - very loud, eerie in the dark. A gorgeous animal!
