White-winged Fairy-wren (Malurus leucopterus)

Kilcowera Station, via Thargomindah, Queensland, Australia. Male.

These little jewels really stand out against the local mostly drab foliage. But like all outback Fairy-wrens, take a fair bit of effort to get near enough for a decent photo - most of mine are a blue and white blob 50 metres away. This guy just jumped up on a bush in front of me and stayed there for a while - quite lucky really!
