Rose-crowned Fruit-Dove (Ptilinopus regina)

Beerwah, Queensland, Australia. Male.

Unfortunately, not a wild one - it was at Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo. Quite a nice walk-in aviary with all manner of birds (more to come). Their normal habitat is in coastal rainforest, and as fruit eaters are invariably at the very top of very tall trees, so not easily seen in the wild - more often heard. It's surprising how very colourful birds can be so camouflaged against basically green foliage!
