Light-mantled Sooty Albatross (Phoebetria palpebrata)

Grytviken, South Georgia.

 

This was a special find - just a handful of these beautiful albatrosses were nesting on sheer, windswept cliffs. It was blowing an absolute gale here - you couldn't stand up in it, otherwise a watery end was in store!
