Tractor Tugboat Admiral 'Broadie' spinnin' past USS Iowa
We were photographing the bow of USS Iowa (BB-61) as she lay at anchor 4 miles offshore from Seal Beach. We were about 90 feet straight off her bow, and 'Admiral' was parallel to the battleship (to the left of the above shot, and 45 degrees from what you see here); she suddenly lunged forward, and using her ability to "spin on a
dime sand dollar", she spun 45 degtees, and charged between our boat and the Iowa. I barely had time to grab this 'snap' shot. Note the telltale wave and 'plowed' water; I never tire of seeing this. .
