Ångström on omapzoom

After some trouble with serial cables that needed rewiring and a battery that refused to charge, angstrom is finally running on the omapzoom.

We are trying to put angstrom on omapzoom II. We got the prebuilt Images from amethyst.openembedded.net/~koen/narcissus/ for Omap Zoom. We formatted a SD card with this images.

We used the following boot args and command

    #setenv bootargs 'console=ttyS3,115200n8 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw rootdelay=1 mem=256M init=/sbin/init'
#setenv bootcmd 'mmcinit; fatload mmc 0 0x80c00000 uImage; bootm 0x80c00000'

But the kernel is not starting. It hangs after saying "Starting Kernel" as shown below
    1886560 bytes read

    ## Booting image at 80c00000 ...

    Image Name: Angstrom/

Image Type: ARM Linux Kernel Image (uncompressed)

    Data Size: 1886496 Bytes = 1.8 MB

    Load Address: 80008000

    Entry Point: 80008000

    Verifying Checksum ... OK

    Starting kernel ...

We compiled the Linux Omap Kernel from the OmapZoom site TI-2.6.27-omap1 kernel version. This kernel is booting up and we drop to shell.
We tried using the Ansgtrom rootfs with the built TI kernel. It booted up and drops to login shell. We dont see the desktop manager on the LCD. Screen is all white. We see the Xorg (running on :0) and gpe-dm processes running.

You can see the log here

Are the boot args we are specifying correct?
How can we get the X working?
