labor - delivery

    Newer Older

here's how 8 hours of labor breaks down:

hour 1 - are these contractions?
hour 2 - not sure, but they're regular. lets time em just in case.
hour 3 - ok ouch, definitely contractions, lets get to the hospital.
hour 4 - holy moly, 2/3 dilated, lets rush you to delivery!
hour 5 - enough time for an epidural? sweet, these contractions are sucking.
hour 6 and 7 - fully dilated but lets try for 2 hours rest. you'll really need it for the next part.
    hour 8 - oh geez, you weren't kidding. push...push...push...baby!

that's my mom on the left sneaking in a shot with her phone. dr. Maria Castillo in front is delivering and Brittany Mumford to the right was the delivery nurse that pulled us through most of it.

strange thing about this photo is that the clock above has time at 3:09. the birth certificate oddly documents a later birth time.
