churchill's finest hour (left) and pliny the younger (right)

churchill's in san marcos relaunched its 50 tap, 2 cask setup on March 6th, 2010 in grand fashion.

pictured here are just two of the 52 great beers available.

churchill's finest hour is a russian imperial brewed for churchill's by the folks at the distinguished lost abbey/port brewing company located just a few minutes away from the pub. comes on sweet, malty followed by a strong espresso flavor. slightly oily. almost no head retention as you can see.

russian river's pliny the younger is a seasonal IPA. the flavors are so well balanced that you can hardly tell that its about 11% alcohol by volume. very different from its brother, pliny the elder. its traditionally obtained by queuing up impatiently in a line leading out of the pub and around the block.

o'brien's 1st keg was tapped dry within 25 minutes of opening.

churchill's didn't last much longer.
