The Mexico City Bus Project
In November 2008, sponsored by Absolut Vodka, Magda Sayeg and the KnittaPlease crew wrapped a city bus with yarn in Plaza San Luis in the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City. The project took a week for the six yarnbombers to complete, using repurposed knitted and crocheted blankets. The bus was hollowed out and used as a workshop space for the community arts. The bus is still parked at Plaza San Luis, and is still being used as a monument to street art. See the new incarnation here: thecitylovesyou.com/urban/?p=9842
