The motel mermaid and me

    Newer Older

In Seaside, OR? I don't remember. She was awesome.

I'm wearing one of the first sweaters I ever completed for myself. Knit with three strands held together, it was chunky and warm. I think I bought the yarn at a shop in Garibaldi, or maybe Rockaway -- and it was NICE STUFF! It's long gone...

Vicki! I think I have stayed at that same motel! I grew up in Oregon. Lived in Coos Bay and Eugene when I was 3 or 4 but don't really remember it. Then back to the midwest until 2nd grade then back to the coast - near Gresham for a couple o' months, then Corvallis for 3rd- 5th grade. Small world. We'll have to have a Coastal Memories day!

Crazy!! I moved to Tillamook in 1983; met my future husband (living at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City at the time) later that year; we rented a house together in Tillamook; eventually sold the P.C. house and bought one at Cape Meares. Katie was born in OR in 1985; and we moved to Wisconsin in late 1986 when I was expecting #2 (of 3). So, really, I only lived there for a couple of years, but LOTS HAPPENED! ; )

How cool to have the memories and for you to remember that sweater, stitch and yarn. Great shot too. Looks like a great place to be.
