Purple bells

    I'm not sure what these are! I don't remember planting them, either. Unexpected and so pretty, whatever they are!

      I believe they are grape hyacinth, Vicki. I'm seeing new/more bulbs this year in the yard. Perhaps this winter's thaw brought them closer to the surface for blooming?

      Thanks everyone! It seems to me I had grape hyacinth elsewhere... and earlier... but perhaps that was something else. ; ) I used to be more on top of the plant identification (and also, things sure seem to bloom a lot where they are NOT planted... which isn't altogether bad, just makes for a gardener who scratches her head a lot).

      vicki, totally in your camp, i take so much floral macro's but have the flower ident IQ of a slug...this is beautiful and i learned the name of these too :) have a great weekend
