Inspired by Richard Festen and his Gift wrap striped cakes.
I have no air conditioning so I couldn't use modelling chocolate. So I braved the Sydney summer weather and used fondant to get the gift wrap effect.
I had a mat with a striped pattern so I used that to get the 'striped' look and finished the cake with a bright red fondant bow.
It was delish! The Chocolate mud cake and ganache is now a family favourite...!
