The beaten copper clad figure known as the Stature of Liberty is actually called 'Liberty Enlightening the World' It stands tall, proudly welcoming immigrants, returning Americans and visitors on Liberty Island near New York Harbor. A gift from the people of France, this statue, more than anything symbolizes the spirit of the United States of America. Shot from the ferry.
