Space Shuttle Overhead

    Newer Older

The Space Shuttle Orbiter flew over Johnson Space Center this morning on its trip back to Florida. It was low -- really low -- low enough to catch this even with my mobile phone (if only I had my camera...).

I missed it leaving Edwards. I wasn't keeping track of it, otherwise i could have gotten up early.

Check out the photos on Mojave Skies of it leaving, good stuff.

There's traffic coming in from somewhere to this photo -- thank you. If anyone has a better photo of the Orbiter flyover, please leave a comment and link to it so others can see yours. This is just a crummy shot from a BlackBerry, only minimally representative of how majestic the flyover was.

The pattern here: they're all better than mine. Have a look.

wow, awesome pic! if it wasn't for sts-41-b they'd do this every time. you've gotta love 747s.

Maybe in the 2020s you'll be able to get a pic of orion descending (I guess it's gonna wind up being a splashdown instead of land touchdown?) that would be cool.
