Once morning's winds have blown

The life of this flower which is called botan in Japanese seems to be short. In fact 白居易 (Bai Juyi, 772-846) sang as follows(惜牡丹花 Regret for Peony Flowers).

Once morning's winds have blown, they surely won't survive,

At night I gaze by lamplight, to cherish the fading red.
