Blondie in the City

The doll was known as the Azone Doll Edit Kit Light (1/6 Slender Body Head 03, Gold Hair) and she was manufactured by a Japanese company called Azone. She originally came clad only in a pair of white panties and she had a blank face. She had rooted blonde hair but I kept it the way it was–with the exception of a minor trim in the back–because I felt long hair looked good on this doll. I painted her face using acrylic paints and I sealed the paint with a matte varnish. Her shoes were originally Skipper doll shoes that I painted red using acrylic paint then I added a layer of red sparkly acrylic paint. I sewed her dress from scratch using a Barbie clothes pattern and sparkly red fabric that I found in the remnant table at the local fabric shop. I used the same pattern to make her furry purse. I also used the Barbie clothes pattern to make her a coat. I used felt and fur trim to make the coat. The gold buttons on the front were strictly decorative–her coat actually had snaps to keep it shut.
