I went on a trip last night with Ottó. We were hoping to catch some mindblowingly awesome sunset&sunrise photos - but to our bad luck, the weather turned out much better than we had hoped, too good in fact. All the clouds disappeared and so our colouring material was removed from the skies.
This photo was taken at Djúpalónssandur, and I've spent hours making it as photo-realistic as possible, at least according to my memory. No exaggerations, no HDR, no filters - but I did something called DRI, a Dynamic Range Increase - that's a bit like HDR but without the tonemapping that often destroys photos in the wrong hands, and without any automatic tools. I shot 9 frames of varying exposures to gather as much detail as possible to void blown highlights or shadows.
