Guerrero Street @21st, San Francisco

    Newer Older

This place is supposed to have been the childhood home of John Daly, founder of Daly City. For several years it was peeling and derelict, then it was restored in the late '90s. (I kind of dug it when it looked more like a haunted house, though.)

I can see where you would like it in it's delapidated state (I would too) but it's great that a house with all that detail an history was restored with such a cook color scheme. Love the house!

aaron language--the house is in San Francisco on the western edge of the Mission district, at Guerrero and 21st streets. (I suppose you could call it "Liberty Heights," if you're being picky.) Its only connection to Daly City is that Mr. Daly is said to have lived in it. Checking up on Wikipedia, I think it's unlikely to have been his "childhood" home (I read that someplace, forget where now) but possibly a house he lived in with his children in the 1880s or thereabouts.
