Dillon's Bottle Tree (KRS Boab)
"Dillon's Bottle Tree" was named as the site for the Kimberley Research Station by Kimberley Michael Durack in 1942 during the year after he had set up the Carlton Reach Experimental Research Station on alluvial river soil. The KRS site also had blacksoil, which was the predominant soil type on the irrigable land. The Carlton Reach experiment was relocated to the new KRS site in 1946.
