Fat bottomed girl

Newer Older

We found a straggler from our recent black-widow invasion, and she was pretty lethargic and my son wanted to relocate her safely. So I took a stick, stuck one of those cup lids with a straw hole over it like a hand protector thing on a sword, fished up a bunch of her web and then plucked her from her hidey hole.

I don't actually know if she was OK, but we did our part and relocated her to an empty ditch area with plenty of hidey holes in which to reestablish a web.

Dad of the day, Mama Cyn, diesmali, and 37 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Ouch!! Beautiful Photo, Dangerous Critter!! If you've never seen the damage their bite can do, you should search YouTube. I bet the next one you see doesn't get 'relocated', especially if you have kids.

I had never looked close enough to notice the red legs on these either. Nicely captured!

ha ha ha, perfect title, I'll be singing that all day now!
Love your shot, I would definitely have tried to save and relocate her too. I don't kill anything unless it is threatening me or my critters.

My son loves spiders too. He likes to touch them and asks me to. We don't have any of those that I am aware of in this area. The photo really is creepy but great.
