Julian Meadow

An alpine meadow high in the Julian Alps on the pass between Kranjska Gora and Soca, Slovenia. To the right is the base of Mt. Triglav (Triglavski), the highest mountain in Slovenia at 2,864 meters. The mountain was the inspiration for Rimsky-Korsakov's symphonic Poem "Night on Mt. Triglav" and is represented on the flag of Slovenia as a three-headed mountain with ski tracks.

The 206 highway is a spectacularly windy mountain pass and there had been a cycling road race on the mountain the day before I traveled it. Someday I'll return here with my bike.
