"Yelling Theatre! in a Crowded Fire" (The new MUTAYTOR cover)

    Newer Older

It's been two years since the band MUTAYTOR put out a new CD

Last Sunday was the listening party where Buck and Atom trotted out the new mix for the band and friends to listen to

On the last two tracks a very tired artist who was leaving for Pittsburgh in just a few hours and still hadn't packed came out and created the cover live

    This is it

The idea to do it this way was struck less than a week before and in the creation, it pushed me deeper than I had gone in both time and technique. Every image (there are seven composited in) where shot on Polaroid 55 film in a bellows camera older than me by many years

I built the panel in 2 days and the final gluing of the images was completed about 8AM the day of the performance. I left for the airport about 3 hours later...

I am quite proud of this one...and of them. It's their best CD to date.

silver emulsion oilgraph on wooden panel - 36x36
    photographed in Theory Labs
created in performance at SMASHlabs, Los Angeles - December 16th

Quizz..., Reportergimmi, Arslan, and 54 other people added this photo to their favorites.

It's amazing what one can do under pressure. The burnt tonality and composition sing.

It is great and very true to the feeling of the time the pictures come from. Great! and good craftsmanship too.
