Earthenware Spring

I spent an afternoon creating this still life whilst waiting for a parcel to be delivered.

The Bluebells are picked from the garden, before anyone asks.

The shot itself was created with Ivory card bent into an infinity curve and placed on a table top, the light source is a single Nikon flash from above just in front of the jug.

The processing is done in Photoshop with the use of Nik and Topaz filters.

Nik was used as a bi-colour filter purple at the top and a subtle brown at the bottom, the original attempt was still too bright at the bottom so I re-processed it with a graduated ND filter to darken down the base of the jug.

The jug lacked detail in the earthenware so I added some structure with NIK filters vivesa plug-in.

I then sharpened up the shot with an unsharp mask in Photoshop and finally used a Topaz de-noise filter to smoothen it up.

Altogether a well spent afternoon, and guess what ?, Yep the parcel still has not arrived.
