Paragraphs Later

An idea that I had one Monday: I was snowed-in, but I still had my morning cycle route in my mind. There's been an ongoing discussion in the community, regarding Mill Road and two-way cycling down its side roads. ... [two paragraphs later] ... A cheap alternative to said cycle plug would be this: a set of poles wedged into the ground, with a black plastic covering around the outside; at either end of the (now) oblong, traffic signs would be applied--flush against the curve of the bollard-esque whatsit. A single bollard would be placed on the side of the road furthest from the plug, displaying a single 'no entry' sign. Another of these single bollards could be placed on the plug-side pavement, and would display a 'pedal cycles only' traffic sign, but this is not required by regulations. Appropriate markings would then be applied to the road surface, and you could even drop a plant box into the available space in the main bollard.
