Sunset at Long Arm Dam 8.6.2012
Tonight's sunset at Long Arm Dam in Hanover, Pennsylvania. This was my favorite of the 3 shots I ended up posting here on Flickr, so I hope you all really enjoy it. Truth is I was really expecting it to be an awful scene, but the clouds broke at 7:30PM not too long after I arrived!
Truth is that you always take a gamble when you go out for nature shots, and I'm so glad I ended up waiting a half hour for this to appear. Every time I go out I learn more and more about weather patterns. With action, it's all about grabbing the scene quick, framing, shooting, and moving on quick to something else. But with nature it's an entirely different beast that you need to learn patience with, and I'm really beginning to understand mother nature the more and more I go out and explore. This is all I want to shoot for the rest of my life, and as I write this I'm secretly praying for early retirement from my career in retail.
