Windy Cove at night , with a Star Trail Sky and Meteor Trail

    Newer Older

We have all taken many images of the moods and personality of Windy Cove, but this is a first for me. I think getting down on the beach towards the museum would offer better framing and composition. Notice the greenish light trail on the right of the rock, that is a Meteor. This is a good reason when taking multiple exposures for stacking keep your delay between exposures to a second or two. 1D Mark III w/24-70 mm f/2.8 at 40 mm, exposure; ISO 200, 140 sec, f/5.6, 35 exposures.

Pretty impressive Kevin. It would be a good contribution to the Morro Rock pool too flickr.com/groups/970590@N25

In addition to being a stunning image, this is a true technical tour de force as is the Mission San Miguel. I hope this is part of a long series of star trail views.

Very pretty effect, Kevin. No wind gave nice reflections too.

This is spectacular, Kevin and what we consistently view of your work; thanks for the commentary

The elongated light reflections on that calm water are beautiful. I'm seeing something like a castle on the right, where the water meets the point of land. Doesn't look like the power plant, something much more beautiful, although indistinct. Like magic...
And aren't you lucky to have caught the meteor. That has to be a sign of good fortune coming your way : -)
