45/366 - Sunset in Coppice
(13th October 2011) - After getting off the bus today, I walked uphill to my street, took a left and was greeted with a pinky/purple sky. The sunset looked lovely and completely took me by surprise. Which was lucky, as I hadn't really got a photo I was happy with today!
Incidentally, this is the first picture I've taken of my street. You can't see my house from here, I live a few minutes further up, but there's something about the streets in Oldham which give them a very Oldham feel. Maybe it's how the terraced houses are all squashed together. Or maybe it's how you rarely get a flat street, there's always an incline (or decline) somewhere along the road. Or maybe it's the rows and rows of cars which line every road. Well, whatever it is, it's very Oldham-esque. A side effect of this, is that you don't often have the best view of the sunset!
I've taken a photo similar to this previously (www.flickr.com/photos/kettiby/6144834263/in/set-721576276...) but that was taken as the sun had risen.
