Pyongyang diplomatic quarter
While North Korea has diplomatic relations with some 150 countries, only a few of them have established embassies in Pyongyang. There are about 25 diplomatic missions in Pyongyang, and with the exception of the two largest of them, the Russian and the Chinese embassies, they are clustered in two separate diplomatic quarters in Munsu district, some seven kilometers from Pyongyang downtown. Both areas are fenced off and guarded day and night; ordinary North Koreans are not allowed access.
