If a picture is worth a 1,000 words, this one would be worth 2,000.

The new HBO series How to Make It in America is for everything hustler; street style, urban life, lower east side, graffiti, art and fashion. We’re hooked on your photostream. Add this photo to our pool, and join the howtomakeit flickr group.

HA how to make it is a horrible show, and this is an AMAZING set of flicks. I was only a child in these days, but i still remember the hypercolored interiors of graffiti filled subway cars fondly. New York has gotten soft, and these photos make me miss the Koch and Dinkins eras, when people were afraid to visit our fair (and fouled) Metropolis. Now, everyone takes "street photos," back then, id assume it took more balls to shoot people you didn't know, the city had many more WILD cards in the deck... This set made my day. Good LOOKS

The good old days when the lights in the train used to go off for 5 minutes at a time or flickr on and off randomly if you were lucky!

Wonderful image! The whole set is absolutely stunning and is everything that New York in the1980s looked like in my imagination from Manchester, England.

    Get them in book man!

What a shit place to live... to romanticize or feel nostalgia for such as place is very warp-minded. But, yes, a very interesting, if not, worrisome photo.
