Centre of Attention
Photography can be such Hell. Imagine, I had to spend two whole days photographing this gorgeous model in Paris last weekend. How I suffer for my art! :-)
My model here is Sophia and the fact that this shoot took place is testimony to the serendipitous opportunities that the internet now gives us.
I first came across Sophia on the photostream of one of my Flickr contacts, the very talented Parisian photographer papillon de jour2010
So, when I booked my trip to Paris, I got in touch with him...to see if he could put me in touch with Sophia (who is his favourite model), with a view to arranging a shoot...IF she was available.
He very kindly did so...Sophia and I exchanged some e-mails...and as a result the two days of shooting were arranged. Ta-Da! :-)
This was taken on Bir Hakeim Bridge over the Seine. The bridge has lanes on either side of a central reservation...and the supports you can see are for an above ground section of the Paris Metro.
Sophia was an absolute joy to work with. Obviously, she is gorgeous...but more than that she is also a very dedicated and professional model. We had a lot of fun working together...conversing in a mix of French and English...and Scots, if it comes to that! :-)
At one point in this shoot, Sophia pointed out a car which had been circling the bridge several times and which was filming us working. Eventually, on one of its orbits...that car ran into the back of another...so potentially a hilarious YouTube moment out there...if anyone finds it...do let me know! :-)
I used my camera flashgun on my tripod...with a Rogue Reflector and Diffusion Panel turning it into a mini-softbox...fired by an infra-red trigger from my camera...it seemed to work pretty well.
