Man, Woman, Wild, Left Hand Fork Canyon, Near Monroe, Utah
We found a trail we began to follow down what we perceived to be Left Hand Fork Canyon. The trail petered out after awhile. Was it the correct trail in the first place? Did we temporarily lose it? Regardless, all of the sudden a thunderstorm was upon us and we had no trail. We hunkered under a pine tree on the side of a hill and waited out a hailstorm. Then we elected to follow the creek down the canyon, where we could see the road to which we were heading straight ahead. The underbrush was thick and nearly impassible. I could see on my GPS that our progress was incredibly slow. We encountered beehives, cliffs, stinging nettle, thorns, mud, spiders, and all sorts of obstacles. What was supposed to be a simple hike turned into quite the adventure.
