way down in my dark life
a shaft of your light
after i knew i'd gotten the portraits i needed during an interview, i entertained myself with my long lens and some window light.
while i don't really like shooting portraits while a person is being interviewed (i rarely like shooting portraits at all), it is nice to have the subject distracted and less aware of my camera. this enables me to maneuver myself, rather than direct them.
this man had such beautiful dark dark skin
and it's funny, because with a view of this tremendous man's face so tight in this light, he is transformed.
you'd never be able to pick him out of a line-up from this shot.
he is a tall, impeccably dressed man with a commanding, confident presence
yet here, i think he looks like a young girl.
