New Year's Morning- A Wide View- Badwater, Death Valley California
Our first two days were spent exploring the southern end of Death Valley, and a few of the far stretched areas of the park. We decided on Badwater for sunrise for a few reasons. One we had done the dunes that previous morning, and our legs were tired. Second, Badwater is easy to get to... leading to third we didn't have to get up too early to get there.
And boy did the new year deliver... glorious golden, pink and purples spread as far as the eye could see along the western reaches of death valley. Sadly, I didn't think of a pano capturing all the glorious light, until it was just too late. Instead just the tale end.
This image is a combination of three horizontal images stitched together in Photoshop. To bad the idea of a panorama was not thought through, all images were taken at 11mm. I did not zoom-in at all, so all three images had some distortion. Making the final pano smaller than I intended at the moment.
But, I do feel that it captures the spread of glory from the new years day sunrise. I will post my wam-bam sunset shot later...
