Cineac, Amststerdam, The Netherlands

Located on the narrow Reguliersbreestraat, close to the Rembrandt Plein and opposite the Tuschinski Theatre. The Handelsblad Cineac opened on 18th October 1934 with a seating capacity of 650 in stalls and balcony. The architect was Jan Duiker.

Built as a newsreel theatre, it went over to feature films in the 1960's. It closed on 12th April 1995 and in November 1996 it was converted into a Planet Hollywood Restaurant. This only lasted into 1998 and the building is now in use as an up-scale nightclub and restaurant.. The signage has been retained and is maintained as I believe this is a Listed building.
