Crossing The Danube

Many thanks to my wife for standing here with me and enjoying the sights. Long exposures require patience, but we both felt like the view was worth the wait. This river originates in Germany flowing over 1,700 miles and passing through four European capitals before emptying into the Black Sea. Here is a very narrow view of this massive river from an elevated position at the base of Gellért Hill in Buda, overlooking Pest through the Elisabeth Bridge: it was our closest crossing into Buda. It's amazing how people respect the Bus Lane... guess I'd get honked at a lot if I lived in Budapest.

Single frame, 90 seconds, Hoya ND8 filter. Took a few steps to the right to get a better view of the Inner City Parish Church, which looks so grand on the other side of the river.
