London West End
Chronologically, this shot was taken on my first night in London. But I've decided to close my London series with this because I wanted to finish strong. I took a real liking to this view. We experienced other parts of London that I didn't document with photos, but we managed to stay in the West End most of the time. So closing with this shot is appropriate. Next time in London - East side: St. Paul's, Bank, Greenwich, and Canary Wharf goodness. Can't wait.
Like seeing pictures of London? Check out David Bank, nobody does London better and his many takes on the city are definitely worth your attention. His work has inspired many of the shots you see on my photostream.
This shot is a three minute exposure with the Hoya ND8 - some upward shift used, and significantly cropped. Taken from Hungerford pedestrian and rail bridge. Normally it would be impossible to capture this view without planes streaking overhead through the three minute exposure. How is this possible? This was the first day of the mass-airport shutdown, canceling all flights out of London due to the snow. Good for photography, bad for getting home.
