Movie Lines Project : Installment #5, The Terminal
"I've been waiting my whole life. I just don't know what for. Everybody's waiting. Everybody."
The Terminal - 2004
First image of 2009. Much hard work went into this one! That is actually a very old picture of Grand Central Station that I inserted the luggage and myself into. At first, I was going to do this with a modern airport picture but then I had the idea to do it with a vintage photo. If you haven't seen The Terminal yet, it is such a beautiful light-hearted story really. Tom Hanks' character has such a love for his country but I think that falls into the background for the most part. There is a scene when he first gets stuck in the airport where he finally finds a television on with sound and the news is covering the war that erupted in his country (Krahkozia) while he was on board the plane. The emotion in his response to seeing that for the first time is just so moving and unbelievable. I don't think any other actor could have pulled that off. But anyways, the movie is basically about waiting for something. Every character in this movie seems to be waiting for something in their life.
I hope this attempt looks realistic enough because I had to put the shadows in and blur the people and what not and I'm not quite used to doing that!
